DAISY & Pillar award winners

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses everyday. Medina Healthcare System is proud to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing our nurses with this special honor once a year. DAISY Award honorees personify Medina Healthcare System's remarkable patient experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.

Our runner-up DAISY Award winner is Ms. Kaci Dupont, RN, who lives in Hondo. Kaci began her medical career as a clerk inside Medina Regional Hospital. Upon graduation from LVN school, she worked in both the Hondo & Devine Rural Health Clinics. Kaci continued her nursing education and in May of 2021, started working as an RN in the Emergency Department. We are very proud of Kaci's accomplishments!

The DAISY Award winner is Ms. Johannah Dowell, BSN RN, who lives Castroville. Johannah is an RN for the Surgery Department. at Medina Regional Hospital. She started with MRH as a contract nurse in January 2022 and then became a full-time employee in June 2022. She is also a United States Air Force Veteran and has been a registered nurse for 15 years. We are so happy to have Johannah as part of our surgical team!
