Hurst Ratings and Analytics recently recognized the nursing staff at Medina Regional Hospital with The Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing Award for achieving excellence in quality nursing.

“Being recognized with a Gold Standard of Nursing Award is an honor for our nursing staff and hospital,” says Janice Simons, CEO of Medina Healthcare System. “It demonstrates the level of dedication and commitment to quality care that our patients, their families, and the community can expect at Medina Regional Hospital.”

Hurst reviews key nursing quality indicators from patient satisfaction surveys in the categories of nurse communication, staff responsiveness, medication communication, and pain management. The award is given to hospital nursing staffs that score significantly above the national average on these performance measures.

“Our nurses play a vital role in patient care at our hospital,” says Billie Bell, RN, Chief Nursing Officer. “They are truly deserving of this national award.”
